The Bakery
Ruth – trained at Hudd Tech College from leaving school to gain qualifications in catering and hotel management. Passion for good homemade food evolved, and did outside catering, alongside working on the family farm. It was a natural progression for her Daughters to pick up these skills in the family kitchen. The opening of the shop saw these skills blossom. Katie now being in charge of the main day to day running of the kitchen supported by Ruth and Rachael.
We have an on site bakery at Far Barsey, producing the fabulous aroma that greets you when you enter through the double doors. Ruth, Katie and Rachael use the traditional family recipes as passed down from former generations and used in the farmhouse kitchen to create mouth watering breads, cakes, quiches, pies and homemade ready meals and always trying new creations.
We use fresh ingredients such as free range eggs, the home reared beef and all our homemade produce are free from additives and preservatives. Our pastry is handmade and the pies are rolled and pressed by hand, creating real care and detail.
